Notes from a small blue planet
Gabriele Bulfon writes music that takes its themes from science and the imagination — exoplanets and quantum mechanics, the spiral of a nautilus shell, chants in a language built for worlds light years away. The same impulse, he says, that has driven people to keep sending messages into the dark.
The records move between intimate solo piano and full trio, recorded in Milan with musicians including Franco Avalli, Walter Calloni, Stefano Bagnoli, Fabio Pansini, Maxx Furian and Andrea Bruzzone. The latest project, Anonibiklikly — A.I. Reloaded, runs original compositions back through artificial intelligence — music first recorded and played by Gabriele Bulfon with Gabriele Brivio on drums and Marco Melloni on bass.
